The Best Beauty Buys of 2018
As we close out 2018 I wanted to share some of my absolute favorite beauty products from this year. These are all items I’ve re-purchased so you know they’re that good! Share your favorite products with me in the comments below!
I’m listing this first because this might be the most-underrated beauty tool I’ve ever used; the Essarora ice roller. I pull this from the freezer EVERY morning when I wake up and roll it all over my face and under my eyes to instantly de-puff. It‘s also super helpful for sinus pain/pressure or if you suffer from allergies. It’s under $15 and honestly so effective and refreshing. A must buy!
This is one of my new holy grail products. I can say this has 100% increased growth of my eyebrows like nothing I’ve ever tried. My eyebrows were over-plucked as a teenager and have never really grown back, until I started using this miracle serum. I brush it on my eyebrows every night before bed and I have actually been shocked at the difference I’ve seen! My eyebrows are without a doubt longer and thicker and I wish I had taken a before and after picture as proof. In any event, take my word that this stuff works like a dream.
My hairdresser used a similar apple cider vinegar rinse on me recently and I loved how soft and shiny it left my hair. Instead of paying $15 for each treatment at the hairdresser, I found this small size of the DpHue ACV Rinse here for the same price and use it in place of conditioner once a week. It rids your hair of product build-up and this size will get you 4-5 applications. It’s a win, win in the hair department.
You’ve heard me talk about this product many times before, but I can’t stop because it’s just that good. The Babyfacial Sukari Peel is a potent AHA/BHA exfoliating facial peel to be used once a week for the softest, brightest skin of your life. I’ve stopped getting my chemical peels at the dermatologist because I use this once a week. #Selfcare at it’s finest.
I’ve been using this tinted moisturizer every day for most of the year and I have to say I’m really impressed. It’s taken the place of my every day foundation as I love the much lighter coverage. True to the name, it truly looks just like skin and blends beautifully. I also love that it’s clean and free of lots of the scary chemicals found in most foundations and includes antioxidants for additional skin benefits. I wear the shade Bliss.
Two other powerhouse products from Drunk Elephant. I use the C-Firma serum in the morning under sunscreen and the Protini polypeptide Cream morning and night. The Protini cream is like a “shot of protein for the skin” and I’ve especially loved using this after retinol at night because it’s so hydrating for the skin. Jam-packed with crazy levels of amino acids, signal peptides, and safe, synthetic growth factors (the good kind), this dreamy cream melts right into your skin to make it hydrated, bouncy, and balanced. Thanks to the Babyfacial peel and these two products I’ve never been happier with the condition of my skin.
Hands down my favorite SPF for daytime. it checks all the boxes: no white cast, no greasy residue, perfect under makeup. Wearing SPF every day is sooo important, especially if you’re using exfoliants/retinoids and this one takes the cake.
I recently ordered this lipstick in Thrillest after reading about the non-toxic Kosas brand and I love the poppy red color. I have also heard good things about this cheek palette so I may try that next.
A super natural contouring palette that allows for very subtle shading and shaping of the face. A must for year-round contouring and highlighting!
Looking ahead to 2019
I have dreams about using only clean skincare and makeup and I’m on my way with my Drunk Elephant products, Chantecaille tinted moisturizer and Kosas makeup. I’m not one to make resolutions, but this is one of my 2019 skincare goals :)
