Hi.

Welcome to my blog. I document the intersection of style and beauty and my life with two little girls. Hope you enjoy!

My Travel Beauty Routine

My Travel Beauty Routine

We're back from an AMAZING trip to Mexico, and I am definitely going to be posting a recap on our Tulum visit soon! In the meantime, I thought I would share a look at my (very simple) beauty routine while traveling. In the spirit of never checking bags (see here) and wanting to travel light, I have become a pro at whittling down my every day beauty products to a few multi-tasking and perfectly sized items.

Since this was a beach trip to a very casual town - I knew I really didn't need much in the way of beauty products. Here is a peak at what I packed:

FACE: I brought my trusty skin-perfecting tint (which I have started wearing every day, actually) which goes over my favorite sunscreen for the face. I think I need to do a whole post on sunscreen because I have tried them ALL and this is the lightest/best I've found. I picked up this powerhouse palette in the duty-free store within the Sao Paulo airport of all places and love, love, love it. It's TINY but houses 5 eyeshadows, a bronzer, blush, 5 lip colors, a travel mascara and THREE brushes! I'm all about those multi-use items and this is the one thing I take with me on all of my trips since it has everything you need for your face and takes up no space at all. It's kind of life-changing actually. (PS I also really love this small eyeshadow palette if you're just looking for some great basic eye colors in a travel-friendly size).

EYES: My new favorite travel palette included the travel version of this mascara, so I took that and my fave eyelash curler and was basically all set in the eye makeup department.

LIPS: I threw in this multi-tasking lip/cheek tint (all natural product = bonus) which is perfect for adding some easy-breezy color to your face for those no-makeup beach days.

HAIR: I really didn't need this surf spray, because I was at the actual beach - but I'm adding it here in case you're looking for a great spray for your hair and you're NOT going to the beach. This is perfect to spray in your wet locks to add some beachy waves/texture. (I use this all the time and love it)

BODY: I have been testing out this all-natural (aluminum free!) deodorant and do like it quite a bit. I probably wouldn't wear it for a super intense workout, but for every day it works just fine. It's fairly affordable so give it a try and let me know what you think.

FRAGRANCE: I can't say enough about this delicious smelling scent - it is my absolute favorite. It is pretty pricy so here's my tip for you: go into Neimans or Sephora and ask for a sample. They will almost always oblige - and then you have a small bottle you can take with you on trips. I do this frequently and thus never have to spend the $ on the entire bottle. Genius, right?

All of these items fit in the smaller bag from my beautiful leather travel set - so I was able to leave the bigger bag behind. Let me know if there are any other travel-friendly products you can't live without!
