Clean Beauty in Georgetown
Since becoming pregnant for the first time four years ago I've started paying extra attention to the products I put on my skin and in my body. (Nothing like growing a human to make you examine each and every thing you ingest.) I've done a lot of research on clean beauty and still make a conscious effort to use as many natural beauty products as possible. It can be daunting (and expensive) to make the switch so I always like to try products in person before buying, when I can.
While in Georgetown recently I was pleasantly surprised to stumble upon the most beautiful store I've probably ever seen. It is so calming and minimalistic and I could definitely move right in. Take Care is a gorgeous space first and foremost, but beyond that - owner Becky Waddell carries primarily vegan, plant-based products from such well-known brands as Josh Rosebrook, May Lindstrom and Vintner's Daughter as well as products from some lesser-known names. Their mission is all about offering the ideal opportunity to slow down and participate in moments of calm and revitalization that we all need to be our most beautiful and compassionate selves. As a busy working mom I find that self-care is increasingly important and I love products that help me take care of myself in the healthiest possible way. Who else feels like 2017 has been a crazy year??
I left with some Herbivore Botanical goodies and a glass jar of mixed bath salts Everly created from the DIY Salt Bar...just one of the many unique features about this store. (They also have some amazing home goods and choice clothing items. "The Future is Female" t-shirt pictured below also came home with me.)
Stop by and see them if you're in DC: 1338 Wisconsin Ave, NW.
